Syrah is a relatively new arrival in the Chilean vineyards, but it is quickly establishing roots and becoming a bright star on the vinicultural horizon of the country. The richly coloured red grape produces purplish red wines that vary on style depending on the region in which they cultivate it. In mild climates, such as Colchagua valley, the wines are generally big, luscious and juicy delights. In cool climates, like Elqui or San Antonia, they become sublimely spicy and complex.
