This important red Bordeaux grape made its way to Chile in the middle of the 19th century, but wasn’t really popular until the beginning of the 1990s. Merlot appears in almost all the valleys of Chile and the resulting wines range between fruity and friendly, to vibrant and remarkable, depending on where it is planted.
